Conventional manufacturing runs hot, because hot is fast. Heat is how you get an emulsion to behave and how a batch leaves on schedule. It is also how the three most valuable classes of ingredient in modern skincare quietly stop working. All three still appear on the label afterwards. The potency doesn't.

The same failure, reached sooner. Bigger structures have more to lose and lose it faster. An enzyme that has denatured is no longer an enzyme — it's protein residue on an ingredient list.

An emulsion base can be built hot — everyone's can. Ours comes down to cold room temperature before a single active goes in.
The ingredients arrive cold too, purified by supercritical fluid extraction, membrane separation and chromatography rather than heat. So when the label says peptides, it means peptides.

Where it's made
Khold is manufactured by Isomers Skincare Laboratories — our parent company, our family's lab, and the building every Khold formula is made in. Not a contract manufacturer working from a brief, and not a white-label range with a logo on it. My parents have been formulating here since 1986.
Our standards
Most of what makes a formula good is a decision not to take a shortcut. These are ours, and they're the reason our range is small.
Not for convenience, not to hit a production date, not for a single batch. It's the constraint the whole company is built around, and the reason some formulas take us longer than they'd take anyone else.
No parfum, no essential oils, nothing included to make a formula smell like something. Scent is the most common reason a product irritates skin, and it's never doing anything for you.
Every Khold formula is made in our own lab by people whose name is on the building. Nothing is sent out, nothing is white-labelled, and nothing is made by someone we've never met.
Where our evidence sits on an ingredient rather than a finished formula, we say so on the product page, next to the number. It's a less flattering way to write, and it's the only version worth reading.
Actives that survive manufacturing still have to survive the shelf. Everything we make goes out in opaque, light-blocking packaging, and every formula is heat-stability and freeze-thaw tested before it does.
